Yellow is so HOT right now
The powers that be in the fashion industry claim that yellow is THE color for fall this year. Seems counter intuitive, and many people are afraid of yellow, but after spending a couple of weeks at my Manitoba cottage, where fall colors were resplendent, I completely agree with them. Lori (center in the ‘Helene’ print from 2015) demonstrates how above the knee length makes our dresses excellent for autumn walks along the shore (and suitable for cocktails or coffee in Santa Monica). Notice Kelly’s booties (at left in ‘Los Lionnes’ from 2014), and imagine the dress with a tall brown boot and cropped or long sweater coat. A colorful flat adds punch (as on Helene, at right, in ‘Dry Creek’ from 2013) during a hot Santa Ana wind. You really can’t lose extending the wear of a yellow dress from summer, deep into fall layered with brown or gray sweaters and boots as the weather chills. (On a personal note, I wore dresses with sturdy leather Frye and Hunter rain boots often during my time in Manitoba, despite record cold temperatures). Bold yellow prints have been best sellers over the years. Why not give one a try in 2018? All fabrics and styles available to special order. Cheers! Andrea
